In previous years, bedroom sales have covered the cost of large function rooms, but with more attendees booking through third parties or other hotels, securing these rooms has become challenging. Bookings using our code on birminghamconvention.com are crucial to securing the necessary space.
For 2026, we're exploring options to secure larger rooms and offer attractive resident packages. However, for 2025, we’ve adjusted our resident packages and registration fees based on attendee feedback. Many prefer the flexibility to eat elsewhere, leading to more bookings at B&B rates or local hotels.
With a 20% discount on live Hilton B&B rates, competitive with local hotels, this package includes free leisure access and reduced registration fees. Book from just 1 night over our dates, and rooms are per room not per person - share the cost!
Booking early ensures the best price and supports securing function rooms, as rates may increase closer to the event, similar to airline pricing.
We urge encourage to book early to help secure the required space and ensure the success of the 2025 convention. Our partnership with the hotel, spanning 36 years, ensures a great experience for all.

For details and booking, visit birminghamconvention.com. Please avoid calling the Hilton to book as this has caused confusion for members in the past. If you cannot book online please ensure you quote "FSHEBB" when booking.

The Heart of England Convention, which began in 1987, has blossomed into a powerful and cherished event in the AA fellowship. Year after year, it continues to grow, welcoming individuals from all walks of life who come together in the spirit of recovery and mutual support. This convention is more than just a gathering—it's a celebration of sobriety and a testament to the strength we find in each other. Rooted deeply in AA’s traditions, it fosters unity, self-support, service, and recovery. Here, we are reminded that none of us walks this journey alone. Together, we find strength, hope, and encouragement as we continue on our path of recovery, one day at a time.
Tradition 1 teaches us that our common welfare comes first because personal recovery depends on AA unity. This is at the heart of the convention, where members gather to support each other and strengthen their sobriety. The convention’s success over the past 30 years reflects this spirit of unity.

Tradition 1 teaches us that our common welfare comes first because personal recovery depends on AA unity. This is at the heart of the convention, where members gather to support each other and strengthen their sobriety. The convention’s success over the past 30 years reflects this spirit of unity.
In line with Tradition 5, AA’s primary purpose is to carry its message to alcoholics who still suffer. The Heart of England Convention, held in Birmingham, lives this purpose through workshops, speaker meetings, and opportunities for mutual support. These activities help spread the message of hope and recovery.
Tradition 7 reminds us that AA groups should be fully self-supporting. The Heart of England Convention follows this by relying only on registration fees and raffles for funding. This keeps the convention independent and focused on serving the AA fellowship.
For over 30 years, the Heart of England Convention has united members, providing a space to share experiences, strength, and hope. This event has become a cornerstone of the AA fellowship, reinforcing the core values of humility, love, and mutual support that define Alcoholics Anonymous.

Throughout the convention, service opportunities are offered to everyone, reminding us that by helping others, we help ourselves. Whether through volunteering or simply being present, each member plays a part in fostering the unity and connection that make this convention so special.
